Louis Sorin is the President & CEO of End Homelessness Winnipeg. Louis has been working in the health and social field for more than thirty years. After his Master in Social Work from the University of Manitoba, he received a graduate certificate in Health System Leadership from Royal Roads University. Until recently, Louis had been a professor at University de St. Boniface in the Social Work program.
Before joining EHW, he was the Community Area Director with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. In this capacity, he oversaw the delivery of health and social services programs for the Downtown and Point Douglas community areas. While in this role, Louis also led the regional accreditation team related to the Special Populations Standards with Accreditation Canada. In 2014, he was named Chair of Advisory Board of the National Collaborating Centre on Determinants of Health at StFX University in Antigonish, NS. He recently joined the National Canadian Mental Health Association Board as Director-at-Large.
Louis speaks French, English, and Cree and is honored to serve the community and lead an amazing team within EHW. Louis firmly believes the ability of community to lead and manage the issues that they experience. Through their generosity of wisdom, knowledge, culture, skills, and a sense of belonging, citizens can come together to sustain communities that care and end deeply-rooted social problems like homelessness.
