Joy Bacon was elected to the CMHA National Board in October 2014 to serve as the divisional representative for New Brunswick. She is currently a member of CMHA New Brunswick’s Board of Directors and has been active in the recent re-organization of CMHA in the province as Chair of the Governance Committee. In addition, she has chaired the Women and Wellness initiative in Fredericton and currently serves as Chair mentor for that initiative.
Joy has 35 years of experience in the health and social services fields in New Brunswick having held a variety of positions from front line to senior management. In this capacity, she has had the opportunity to work in partnership with various non-profit organizations that were seeking to improve the services they provide to individuals and their families.
In recent years she has served on provincial and national boards with the same goal of improving systems and capacity for individuals both with mental illness and intellectual disability. With her experience in governance and systemic change, Joy is looking forward to working with CMHA’s National Board as it strives to support CMHA’s commitment to positive mental health for all.
